Saying "Yes" to Diversity in Sport – join us for the FIMS events at ICSEMIS 2016

With only 34 days to go until the 31st Olympic Games will be opened in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, colleagues worldwide are in their last preparations to provide the best possible care to their athletes on site – going through their checklists, filling in customs forms and keeping up-to-date with the latest on Zika and water quality.

We would like to take this opportunity and remind you once more that it is worthwhile staying on for those who go to the Olympics or come a little earlier for those who go to the Paralympics: The 3rd International Convention on Science, Education and Medicine in Sport (ICSEMIS) "Saying 'Yes' To Diversity in Sport" will take place from 31st August to 4th September 2016 at Mendes Convention Center in Santos, Sao Paolo, Brazil. You can still register at www.icsemis2016.org or on site.

The programme spans a variety of topics in Sports and Exercise Medicine for athletes, athletes with impairments and the general population including educational, ethical and socioeconomic aspects. We invite you to embrace this unique opportunity to engage in the discussion and expand your international network as one of the expected 2000 attendees from all over the world.

ICSEMIS is the successor of the former pre-Olympic/ Paralympic Congresses and aims to provide a true multidisciplinary platform in the host country of the Games. In 2004, the International Council of Sports Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and FIMS joined forces to bring the major stakeholders in science, education and medicine together. The 1st ICSEMIS in Guangzhou, China, in 2008 and the 2nd ICSEMIS in Glasgow, UK, in 2012 were stimulating events demonstrating the need for such a platform.
